Clear Credentials

The following California credentials can be cleared through our program: 

  • Educational Specialist
  • Multiple Subjects
  • Single Subjects 

Reimbursement

For teachers utilizing accredited programs other than the SDCOE/OUSD program, Oceanside offers $1,200 per year reimbursement for completed Induction work, for up to two years. This is not available for teachers using the SDCOE/OUSD program.

Reimbursements are accepted up until June 7 - no late submissions will be accepted. 

Induction

Teacher Induction (BTSA)

Teacher Induction, formerly BTSA,  is a state-funded program co-sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE) and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). 

 

The program engages preliminary credentialed teachers in a job-embedded formative assessment system of support and professional growth.  Teacher Induction programs are locally designed and implemented in accordance with the Standards of Quality and Effectiveness for Professional Teacher Induction Programs and aligned to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession.

 

Currently, Oceanside Unified works in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education for it’s Teacher Induction Program. 

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year is closed.

Those enrolled in the program will receive:

  • Two years of ongoing support by an experienced, highly trained mentor/support provider
  • Access to a menu of high quality, relevant professional development
  • Opportunities to observe exemplary teachers
  • Job-embedded professional development and support
  • Option to earn units to apply toward a Master's degree and/or salary advancement
  • A California Clear Credential

Requirements

To enroll in the program you must be a full-time, contracted employee of OUSD.

 

Program requirements include: 

  • Contracted OUSD employee. 
  • Demonstrate classroom application of the Induction Standards for the Teaching Profession 
  • Implement classroom-based inquiry projects
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Collaborate with mentor/support provider
  • Completion of two-year program
  • Payment of $1,000 per year
