State Preschool

Welcome to Preschool

textbooksOceanside Unified School District hosts four state funded preschool sites at Del Rio, Mission,  North Terrace, and Santa Margarita Schools. In order to participate in the program, parents of enrolled children must meet income eligibility requirements as determined by the California Department of Education. Children enrolled in the program must live in the Oceanside Unified School District boundaries and shall be three or four years old by September 1, 2018.

Please do not register your preschool-aged child online. You must fill out a preschool packet.

OUSD is accepting student applications for our 4 preschool programs located at Del Rio, Mission, North Terrace, and Santa Margarita Elementary Schools.

Preschool classrooms have an 8:1 student to teacher ratio. All schools feature an instructional practice that is culturally and linguistically tailored to meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of each student. Children learn best in an environment with consistent limits they are allowed to make choices leading toward self-direction, independence, creativity and divergent thinking. Program activities include both active and quiet components, child-and teacher-directed tasks, group and individual work.

Applications will be available at Ditmar, 1125 S. Ditmar Street, Oceanside, 92054, beginning May 1st. Ditmar hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
